While it is not imperative to have a referral to see Dr McKnoulty or Dr Green, it is strongly advised to organise one from your GP. Without a referral, you will not be able to receive a Medicare rebate for the visit.

Sage Gynaecology operates across three locations in North Brisbane: North Lakes (Suite 502, Level 5, 6 North Lakes Drive), Redcliffe/Kippa-Ring (Suite 5, Corner George & Florence Streets, Peninsula Private Hospital), and Caboolture (87 McKean Street, Caboolture Private Hospital).

Do I need private health insurance to see a gynaecologist at Sage Gynaecology?

Sage Gynaecology sees a wide range of patients, including those without private health insurance. Private health insurance does not cover outpatient clinic appointments — it only covers operations, procedures and hospital stays. Our specialists will discuss all available options with you.

What are the fees for seeing a gynaecologist at Sage Gynaecology?

Sage Gynaecology is a non-bulk billing practice, so there will be an out-of-pocket fee. Most services attract a Medicare rebate. Please contact our reception on 07 3521 5081 for our most up-to-date fees.

Yes. Initial consultations can be offered in-person or via video conference. Follow-up appointments are available in-person, via telehealth, or via video conference. We also regularly see patients across Queensland via video consult.

Accepted Answer

There is no right or wrong time. If you have concerns or questions about your fertility, that is the right time to seek support. Dr Matthew McKnoulty provides fertility care from preconception counselling through to IVF and advanced reproductive treatments.

Does Sage Gynaecology offer IVF treatment in North Brisbane?

Yes. Dr Matthew McKnoulty is a fertility specialist who offers IVF and other assisted reproductive treatments in partnership with Life Fertility Clinic. Initial consultations are held at our North Lakes location.

Question 8

What gynaecological procedures can be performed at a Sage Gynaecology consultation?

Accepted Answer

In-office procedures include colposcopy, endometrial sampling, IUD insertion or removal (Mirena or Kyleena), Implanon, vaginal pessary fitting, and pudendal nerve block. Surgical procedures are performed at Caboolture Private Hospital and Peninsula Private Hospital.
